In 1996 I discovered Contact-Improvisation in Berlin, sort of by accident. I was immediately ‘caught’ by it, and this fascination has remained. Attending jams, classes and workshops with various teachers, the desire to teach myself arose in me. After a training ‘Dans Expressie Teacher’ (Creative Dance) I started teaching in 2002. After that I continued to take classes and workshops from others and to immerse myself in this form of dance, in teaching, in life.
Specific to Sebas’ classes
In my classes, I bring your attention to detailed movements of for example, bones, joints or organs, which allows you to experience your body in a surprising way. This experience expands your possibilities and always leads to a richer and more subtle dance. More attuned and at the same time more your own. And you will find that you can enjoy your dancing even more.
The music I use adds color and supports the flow of your movement.
My background as a dancer and as a teacher is mostly in Contact-Improvisation, Body-Mind-Centering and Creative Dance.
I work as a dance teacher and also as a physical therapist. My fascination for anatomy in relation to how special we can move as human beings, comes together in both worlds.
As physical therapist (fysiotherapeut) I work at Actifytaal in Utrecht.
